Abigail McWilliams

Abigail began dancing at the age of 3. She began with the art of ballet and tap following with various other genres including jazz, hip hop, lyrical, theatre, and highland dancing. At the age of 6 Abigail fell in love with Irish dancing with the Sionnaine Irish Dance Academy. Abigail has competed internationally and has qualified for the North American Irish Championships, as well as competed locally and has been involved with numerous performances for private/corporate functions, weddings, hospital/extended care facilities, pubs/clubs, and parades. Abigail and her family have had a large role in designing, and constructing Irish dance costumes for the Sionnaine Irish Dance Academy. Being around the Irish culture and costumes has always kept Abigail really involved and passionate about dancing and performing. Abigail graduated from high school on the Academic Honour Roll with a Dogwood Scholarship as well as receiving the top art student award. She now is attending the University of the Fraser Valley to become a Child Life Specialist to further develop her creativity and passion for nurturing children. This is Abigail's 4th year teaching under the supervision of Michelle Bond, TCRG and has fallen in love with Irish dancing in a whole new way. She has seen the dance school grow from 20 dancers to 150 dancers and is looking forward to seeing it grow even more. Abigail feels she can bring her own love and passion of dancing to each dancer and to create an inspiring, fun, wonderful, and safe environment. She enjoys teaching all levels of Irish dance and has a unique ability to connect with each dancer. She strives to bring out the best in every dancer through uplifting encouragement while trying to integrate “fun” into each class. Abigail loves to watch her students progress with their Irish Dancing and to see them blossom. She believes that Irish dance is a wonderful outlet for expression and personal growth, its gives you an amazing opportunity to meet great people, build life skills, and become part of a much larger family; the Irish Dancing Family that is.
Abigail brings her own love and passion of dancing to each dancer creating an inspiring, fun, wonderful, and safe environment.
